The Human Relations Commission shall act in an advisory capacity
to the City Council of the City of Atlantic City and shall attempt
to foster, through community effort or otherwise, good will, cooperation
and conciliation among the groups and elements of the inhabitants
of the community and make recommendations to the Mayor and the City
Council for the development of policies and procedures in general
and for programs of formal and informal education that will aid and
eliminate all types of discrimination based on, but not limited to,
race, creed, color, national origin, ancestry or age. The Human Relations
Commission shall perform such functions as are more particularly set
forth in the statute of the State of New Jersey known as the "Law
Against Discrimination" (N.J.S.A. 10:5-1 et seq.).
